As we enter a new phase of growth, we are scaling our school and local authority partnerships, expanding our impact, and establishing MVA as the go-to online school for dual enrolment, alternative provision, and independent school support.
The Role
This is a senior role for a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager who will both lead the delivery of our 2025 school and LA growth strategy and oversee other business development professionals across the business. You will be a strategic executor and team leader, capable of taking a hands-on role in outreach while also coaching, managing, and coordinating across multiple business development channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute targeted outreach campaigns to schools and local authorities to deliver our core growth strategy.
- Lead the implementation of outreach across school networks, LAs, education bodies, and key associations (COBIS, ISA, HMC).
- Build and manage a high-performing business development team, providing leadership, mentoring, and performance tracking.
- Coordinate the development and delivery of outreach strategies across the business, ensuring alignment with central goals and messaging.
- Oversee CRM use and sales funnel performance across team members, setting KPIs and monitoring progress.
- Represent MVA at major education conferences, events, and thought leadership opportunities.
- Own key relationships with strategic partners, local authorities, and MATs.
- Work closely with the CEO, Head of Strategy, and Marketing to evolve and optimise the broader business development roadmap.

Day-to-day Execution
- Targeted outreach campaigns (email, LinkedIn, calls) to Heads, SENCOs, Deputy Heads, Pastoral Leaders, and LA decision-makers.
- Deliver the dual enrolment growth strategy, reaching over 1,000 schools and scaling to 250+ dual-enrolled pupils.
- Lead communication with Local Authorities, pitching MVA as a cost-effective, high-quality alternative provision for EHCP and NEET pupils.
- Represent MVA at school and education events, including BETT, NASEN Live, and Headteacher forums.
- Support partnership development with associations and develop speaking opportunities.
- Contribute to pitch decks, email campaigns, and sales collateral.
- Manage Discovery Calls with school leaders.
- Track leads, pipeline activity, and conversion performance via CRM.
Who You Are
- 4-6+ years' experience in business development, partnerships, or sales, ideally in education, charity, or edtech.
- Experienced team leader, confident in managing people, targets, and outcomes.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to zoom out and lead big-picture growth plans while delivering tactical results.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and a deep belief in MVA's mission to support pupils who thrive best in flexible, online environments.
