Business Development Manager – Industrial Segment (Specialty Adhesives & Potting & Encapsulation)
About the Role
Our business development team plays an essential role in defining and implementing the strategic direction and product roadmap for the Industrial segment of ITW Performance Polymers, with a focus on Specialty Adhesives & Potting & Encapsulation products.

Primary Responsibilities
- Expand the ITW Bonding & Encapsulation business in the Transportation & General Industrial market, owning results and driving growth.
- Acquire & manage new businesses for a defined period after acquisition, then transition responsibilities.
- Define and execute strategic plans for key and target accounts, collaborate with the Segment Manager and Sales Director to meet business objectives & annual targets.
- Implement growth plans for specialized direct clients/applicators.
- Identify influencers, decision-makers, customer pain points, and new sales opportunities/projects, partnering with marketing & R&D.
- Cultivate industrial market relationships with:
- End-users,
- Distributors,
- Engineers,
- Purchasing teams.
- Tailor messaging and align across multiple departments to nurture and acquire new projects.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, pricing, and technical adjustments (volumes, raw materials, inflation) with new customers while adhering to company policies & legal/Sales Director requirements.
- Monitor competitor/market trends and recommend initiatives for differentiation.
- Cross-collaborate with sales, engineering, development, and strategy teams to:
- Pioneer business cases,
- Accelerate Go-to-Market launches,
- Drive competitive advantage.
- Ensure timely, attractive quotations that meet customer acceptance standards.
- Develop industry-megaprojects inspired by trends and innovative building products.
- Use SalesForce.com for:
- Key sales information collection,
- Account & territory management,
- Pricing & funnel tracking.
- Represent ITW at trade shows & association meetings, promoting brands and solutions.
- Uphold safety, environmental, and quality policies/standard operating procedures.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

8+ years of Sales experience with a proven revenue growth track record.

5+ years in Automotive, Transportation, or General Industrial markets.

B2B experience selling to:
- Automotive OEMs,
- Tier One Suppliers,
- Engineers purchasing engineered/technical products.

Diverse portfolio success: Driving innovative product-driven growth.

Sales Excellence: Strong grasp of sales methodologies & execution.

Communication: Excellent written & oral skills with impactful presentations.

High Achievement Orientation: Passionate, highly organized, efficient, and multi-tasking proficient.

Negotiation & Influence: Ability to build relationships and drive key account growth.

Technical Knowledge: Preferred: Experience in structural adhesives.

Travel Requirement:
- Minimum 60% travel.
- Must reside near a major airport.
