Business Development Manager

Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £50,000 – £85,000 + Uncapped Commission

About the Role:

Our client, a leading B2B data, intelligence, and events company, providing business development-led market research across the US and European renewable energy, power, and data centre industries, is seeking a commercially focused Business Development Manager – Subscription to drive growth in the European Data Centre market.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in B2B subscription-based sales, within short cycles particularly within data centres, digital infrastructure, or related technology sectors.

You will be responsible for winning new subscription clients, managing existing accounts, and driving recurring revenue by leveraging the company’s data, insights, and platform solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop new subscription-based business opportunities through a proactive go-to-market strategy
  • Identify clients where the company can add the greatest value through subscription solutions
  • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle for subscription accounts, from prospecting to closing deals
  • Present complex data centre and digital infrastructure solutions clearly and compellingly
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to ensure subscription adoption and retention
  • Stay informed on European data centre industry trends and competitor activity
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth subscription onboarding and client experience
  • Act as a client and product champion, gathering feedback to improve offerings

Professional and Personal Attributes:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in B2B subscription-based sales or account management, ideally in data centres, digital infrastructure, or related sectors.
  • Stable tenure
  • Subscription sales background, ideally within intelligence, data, or media — not generalist SaaS or ERP
  • Pure new business / outbound hunters — not account managers or consultative relationship sellers
  • Proven track record of new business development and revenue growth
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving capability
  • Short sales cycle
  • Self-driven and able to manage workload effectively under pressure
  • Forward-thinking, proactive, and solution-focused
  • Comfortable delivering presentations and client demos
  • Team player with a personable and professional approach
