Business Development Manager | Passive Fire Protection
Location: Harrogate / National
Salary: Competitive Basic + OTE

Our expertise spans Fire Door Protection, Fire Door Inspections, Fire Door Installation & Remediation, Fire Compartmentation, Fire Stopping and Penetration Sealing, delivering technically robust solutions across the public and private sectors.

We're continuing to invest in our people, our technical capability and our growth, and we're looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to play a key role in expanding our presence across the UK.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager with knowledge of the passive fire sector to join a growing, technically focused business with ambitious expansion plans.
Working primarily across the North of England, while supporting opportunities nationwide, you'll be responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business across Adaston's specialist service offering. You'll build long-term relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, housing providers, public sector organisations and framework partners, positioning Adaston as the trusted partner for passive fire compliance and remediation.

Working closely with our surveying, estimating and operational teams, you'll develop tailored solutions that meet clients' technical, compliance and commercial requirements, managing opportunities from initial engagement through to contract award.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and deliver a business development strategy to achieve sustainable growth across the passive fire sector.
- Generate new opportunities across Fire Door Protection, Fire Door Inspections, Fire Door Installation & Remediation, Fire Compartmentation, Fire Stopping and wider passive fire services.
- Build and maintain relationships with Housing Associations, Local Authorities, NHS Trusts, Main Contractors, Consultants, FM providers and commercial clients.
- Identify opportunities through networking, framework agreements, industry events, referrals and market intelligence.
- Work collaboratively with internal technical teams to produce high-quality proposals and tender submissions.
- Manage the full sales pipeline using CRM, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
- Monitor industry trends, legislative changes and market developments to identify new commercial opportunities.
- Represent Adaston professionally at client meetings, exhibitions and networking events.
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for someone who combines strong commercial instincts with an understanding of passive fire protection and the regulatory environment in which our clients operate.
You'll ideally have experience within passive fire protection, fire safety, building compliance or a related construction discipline and be comfortable discussing technical solutions with clients and stakeholders.

You'll also have:
- Proven success in a Business Development, Account Management or Sales role within construction or building services.
- Knowledge of passive fire protection, including Fire Doors, Fire Compartmentation and Fire Stopping.
- An understanding of compartmentation principles and the importance of maintaining compliant fire protection systems.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience managing long-term client relationships and complex sales opportunities.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel nationally.
Experience working within social housing, healthcare, education, defence, commercial property or facilities management environments would be highly advantageous.
