About the Role

Help us make a difference as a Business Development Manager in this South West-based role. The position focuses on driving new business growth across South Wales and the South West, with regular travel and occasional overnight stays required.

This role supports both Hazrem and the Taunton depot, making it ideal for candidates based in South Wales, Bristol, or surrounding areas. The position is primarily depot and site-based but offers some flexibility for home working.


Role Overview

As the Business Development Manager, Tankers, you will:

  • Drive new business growth across National Bulk Liquid (Tankers).
  • Focus on securing new customers, increasing waste liquid volumes, and cross-selling additional services.
  • Work closely with clients and stakeholders to expand operations across the region.

This is a commercially focused role requiring:

  • Strong market knowledge.
  • An established professional network.
  • Proven ability to win contracts and deliver revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Explore, win, and manage new business opportunities to secure and grow the bulk liquids product.
  • Proactively sell profitable new business in line with operational strengths to achieve and exceed quarterly and annual targets.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive new business pipeline, forecasting expected volumes and revenue.
  • Create regular activity and pipeline reports to inform stakeholders of progress.
  • Collaborate with the regional tankers operations team to align strategy with business needs.
  • Maintain CRM data while developing targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Liaise with other commercial teams to share best practices and opportunities.

Your Requirements

  • Experience in developing, managing, and implementing new business services.
  • Strong track record in building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Deep knowledge of the bulk liquids market, including both hazardous and non-hazardous products.
  • Operational understanding of tanker specifications and fittings.
  • Extensive professional network to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, conflict resolution, and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organisational abilities.
  • Self-motivated, resilient team player capable of working independently or collaboratively.
