IT Modern VAR Sales - New Business Development Manager – Moving to Regional Player Manager

North West / Yorkshire - To suit candidate based near Leeds, Sheffield or Manchester close to M1/M6 corridor for regional travel.

£ Highly Competitive Basic + Uncapped Commission (OTE £200k+)
Remote – changing to Hybrid on opening of northern office TBC.

Value Added Recruitment is working with an award-winning, fast-growing IT solutions provider is seeking a Regional Player-Manager to establish and scale its presence across the North. This is a rare opportunity to join during a significant growth phase, build a regional territory from the ground up, and progress into a leadership position as the region expands.

Initially operating as an individual contributor, you'll focus on winning new business, developing strategic relationships, and creating a strong regional footprint before transitioning into a team leadership role with responsibility for building and managing a high-performing sales team.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to:

  • Build and own a regional territory from scratch. They do have 2 major clients in the North as case studies
  • Win new business across mid-market and entry level enterprise organisations – up to 2000 seats
  • Progress into leadership and team management
  • Influence regional strategy and growth plans
  • Develop a long-term regional business with significant earning potential

What You'll Be Doing

Build the Region

  • Drive new logo acquisition across the North
  • Build a strong pipeline within target accounts
  • Establish market presence and key customer relationships
  • Work closely with vendor and internal teams to secure opportunities
  • Become the recognised face of the business within the region

Scale and Structure

  • Create a repeatable territory and pipeline strategy
  • Support recruitment of sales and business development talent
  • Define sector and vertical market focus
  • Begin taking on leadership responsibilities

Lead the Region

  • Build and manage a high-performing regional team
  • Establish a physical office presence
  • Drive scalable and profitable revenue growth
  • Operate with a regional business-owner mindset

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years' sales experience within a VAR, MSP or IT solutions environment
  • Strong new business development track record
  • Experience selling a combination of:
    • Cloud Solutions
    • Infrastructure
    • Cyber Security
    • Managed Services
  • Existing network across Leeds, Manchester and the wider North
  • Proven success winning and developing mid-market and enterprise customers
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ambitions to progress into leadership
