About the Role
We’re seeking a Business Development Manager for the UK & IE region. This isn’t just another B2B SaaS sales role—this is an opportunity to build our UK/IE sales motion from the ground up, establishing Base’s presence in a high-growth market segment.
You’ll act as a foundational team member, taking ownership of the entire sales cycle:
- Working closely with eCommerce Managers, Heads of Marketplaces, and Operations leaders
- Targeting scaling brands and retailers needing to expand marketplace sales without added complexity

By joining us, you’ll tackle real challenges in the e-commerce space, directly impacting thousands of sellers globally in a fast-growing, collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Own the full sales cycle:
- Prospecting & discovery
- Value-led demos
- Creating business cases
- Negotiation & closing new clients (logo acquisitions)
- Strategically identify and convert new business opportunities within the SaaS and eCommerce ecosystem, building a high-potential pipeline
- Articulate value propositions clearly, mapping how Base’s solutions address:
- Multichannel listings
- Order orchestration
- Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Inventory sync
- Customer key performance metrics (GMV, margin, SLA)
- Build relationships with agencies, 3PLs, and marketplace partners to open new revenue streams
- Represent Base internationally, attending:
- Industry events
- Client meetings
- Conferences (networking & brand-building)
- Ensure accurate HubSpot forecasting and maintain a tight feedback loop with:
- Marketing
- Product
- Customer Success

Requirements
- 3–5 years of B2B SaaS sales experience in the UK market, with a track record of consistently hitting and exceeding quotas
- Self-motivated, proactive problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity and starting new territories
- Hands-on knowledge of the eCommerce ecosystem, including:
- Marketplaces
- Operations (inventory, listings, orders, fulfilment)
- Relevant technologies
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, comfortable with:
- Value-led demos
- Engaging with senior stakeholders
- CRM proficiency (HubSpot preferred), along with sales enablement tools
- UK-based, commutable to Brighton office (4–5 days/week), willing to travel for client outreach
