Job Summary
The Business Development Manager (BDM), based in the UK, is responsible for identifying and pursuing sales opportunities in the assigned region in the Banking sector, while maintaining and expanding customer relationships within a defined account base—including both direct clients and resellers—to consistently meet and exceed agreed sales targets through the promotion of Profile Software solutions. The BDM operates with a clear objective to drive revenue growth and business expansion, leveraging both headquarters (HQ) resources and close collaboration with marketing and channel partners, but retains full ownership of the sales process and execution. The role is expected to work autonomously, proactively seeking support from HQ and other departments when needed to overcome challenges or enhance results. The BDM brings significant local and international experience in selling Banking Software Solutions, and demonstrates the ability to drive execution independently while fostering strong partnerships across the business ecosystem.
What You Will Do
- Create and manage a robust pipeline and lead generation process by networking, engaging with resellers, leveraging marketing campaigns, and collaborating with HQ for strategic support.
- Prospect for new business opportunities via networking, cold calling, advertising, collaborating with resellers, and other methods to generate interest from potential clients.
- Develop and tailor tender documents, sales proposals, and client presentations, working closely with marketing and HQ to ensure alignment with company strategy and client needs.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to maximize existing relationships (with both clients and resellers) for increased revenue generation.
- Build and strengthen business relationships with current clients and resellers at both C-level and operational levels, ensuring high satisfaction and loyalty.
- Negotiate agreements with new clients and resellers, and periodically re-negotiate existing contracts to optimize value and terms.
- Monitor, report, and proactively counter competitor sales strategies, sharing insights with HQ and marketing to refine go-to-market approaches.
- Maintain a high level of customer and partner satisfaction within assigned accounts, ensuring issues are addressed swiftly and support is requested when necessary to uphold standards of service.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
