Business Development Manager - Construction Insurance

What The Day Will Look Like
As a Business Development Manager in our UK Construction practice you will:
Understand the prospect’s business and identify their needs, positioning Aon as the logical alternative through strong sector knowledge, benchmarking (including GRIP), and professional articulation of Aon’s risk solutions. Develop tailored revenue proposals using insights from similar clients and the full range of Aon services to ensure profitable, value‑adding propositions. Collaborate with Project Management, Broking, and international Aon offices to ensure seamless delivery against the agreed proposition. Shape and contribute to client service propositions, taking a leading role where required in customisation, quality control, and presentation materials. Work closely with Claims colleagues to build a strong, differentiated Claims proposition for each new client. Build strong internal relationships—particularly across Client Management, Client Services, and specialist teams—to select the right experts for each prospect pitch. Ensure full compliance with Aon Business Rules, FCA regulations, and all statutory requirements.

What Makes This Role Different
This is a pure new‑business role within Aon’s specialist UK Construction practice, focused on winning complex, senior‑level clients rather than managing an existing portfolio. You’ll take a highly consultative approach, using deep sector knowledge, benchmarking (including GRIP), claims insight and Aon’s full range of risk solutions to create genuinely differentiated propositions, all while working flexibly in a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary environment with access to expertise across the UK and globally.
Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success
Sales and Insurance experience are essential – preferably in new business Professional style – ability to impact and impress in 1:1 prospect meetings General commercial awareness Results focused IT literate with experience using databases
