WorkNest Secure Business Development Manager
WorkNest Secure is seeking an ambitious and customer-focused Business Development Manager to help grow our client base and drive revenue through high-quality sales execution.
This role plays a central part in the success of our commercial function, combining proactive business development with the effective management of inbound leads generated through marketing activity. You’ll build relationships with prospective clients, understand their needs, and present tailored solutions that deliver real value.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative sales environment where initiative, professionalism, and curiosity are key. Success will come from blending strong client engagement with consistent pipeline activity, managing inbound leads while also developing self-generated opportunities to drive performance and long-term growth.
This role offers a base salary along with a lucrative commission scheme, with an OTE (on-target earnings) projected at £70,000.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Execution
- Manage new business opportunities through a combination of inbound, self-generated, and outbound activity.
- Build and maintain a healthy, balanced pipeline through effective prospecting, qualification, and conversion.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from first contact and discovery through to proposal, negotiation, and close.
- Consistently achieve and exceed individual sales and revenue targets.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing insight-led recommendations aligned to client needs.
- Represent WorkNest at meetings (onsite may be required), events, and industry functions to strengthen our profile and generate new opportunities.

Client Experience & Relationship Building
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience at every stage of the sales process.
- Build lasting relationships with prospects and clients based on trust, professionalism, and value.
- Ensure a seamless transition for new clients through effective collaboration with internal teams.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of WorkNest Secure’s products and services to support confident, consultative discussions.
Pipeline Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM records for all opportunities, interactions, and forecasts.
- Track personal KPIs and pipeline performance, providing insights to the New Business Team Lead.
- Identify trends or opportunities for improvement across sales and marketing touchpoints.
Collaboration & Contribution
- Work closely with Marketing to maximise the effectiveness of lead-generation campaigns.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Sales, Operations, and Client Management to ensure joined-up customer journeys.
- Contribute to team discussions, share market insights, and support continuous improvement across the function.
Professional Growth
- Take ownership of personal development, engaging in training, coaching, and mentoring.
- Stay informed about cyber security and compliance market developments.
- Demonstrate ambition and readiness to progress within a growing sales organisation.
Skills & Experience
- 2–4 years’ experience in B2B sales or business development, ideally within IT, technology, or cyber security.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding commercial targets.
- Experience managing a blend of inbound, self-generated, and outbound sales activity.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Skilled in developing new relationships and progressing qualified leads.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and CRM discipline.
- Confident working independently while contributing positively to a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
- Positive, motivated, and solution-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and events.
