About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to accelerate growth across the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and residential energy storage markets in UK & Ireland. This role requires:
- A proven ability to drive end-to-end business development, from lead generation to contract closure & project execution.
- Deep expertise in the renewable energy landscape, particularly energy storage systems.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills—balancing technical intricacy with client-centric solutions.

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation & Prospecting
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities through:
- Networking (industry events, trade shows)

- Deep dive into prospective client needs—translating technical requirements into tailored solutions.
2. Business Development Strategy
- Design and implement a growth strategy for C&I and residential energy storage projects.
- Align initiatives with client pain points, market demand, and internal capacity.
3. Client Relationship Management
- Build and nurture client relationships from initial engagement through post-sale support.
- Act as a technical advisor—ensuring alignment between client goals and project feasibility.
- Foster long-term partnerships to maximize repeat business.

4. Proposal Development
- Craft compelling bid responses, tender submissions, and custom solution proposals.
- Customize:
- Technical specifications for on-grid, off-grid, and backup energy solutions.
- Pricing models, ROI calculations, and financial projections.
- Differentiate Pylontech from competitors through innovative pricing structures.
5. Contract Negotiation
- Lead shape contract terms—balancing commercial objective with legal and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with:
- Legal & Finance Teams on terms, risks, and payment structures.
- Technical Teams to reconcile assumptions with delivery logistics.
6. Project Coordination
- Liaise with engineering, project management, and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery.
- Serve as an accountability point for projects—monitoring milestones, budgets, and technical standards.
- Escalate risks or issues to ensure project viability.
7. Industry Engagement
- Represent Pylontech at:
- Conferences (e.g., ees Norwich, Solar Power Europe).
- Regulatory forums (UK Government/CDEM panels).
- Would andhiaa attend industry events such as:

- UK Sustainability Network). Build strategic alliances within the UK/Ireland clean energy ecosystem.
8. Market Intelligence
- Monitor regulatory changes (e.g., UKKC’s FiT summer), subsidies, and compliance policies.
- Analyze competitive landscapes, emerging tech (e.g., AI-driven battery management), and Sebeninin trends.
- Contribute to strategic positioning—adopting an agile, forward-thinking approach to market entry.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications
Education & Background
- Bachelor’s (or equivalent) in:
- Engineering (M.E., electrical, mechanical, chemical)
- Business/Management (MBA preferred)
- Project Management (PRINCE2/AGILE certifications advantageous) A specialization in renewable energy or battery systems is a strong differentiator.

Professional Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in:
- Business development or project management.
- Energy Storage/Batteries or renewables (solar, wind, grid). Has managed portfolios from RFQ submission to contract signatures.
Technical & Soft Skills
- Technical fluency: Understanding of storage sizing, energy density, cyber security risks, inverter compatibility.
- Negotiation proficiency: Terminology for LCOE (Levelized Cost of Energy), warranty structures, maintenance contracts.
- Creative problem-solving: Cadmium alarm agreements, financing novel site integration (e.g., vast residential schemes).
- Digital acumen: Utilize CRM tools, market analytics, and proposition software confidence.
