Business Development Manager

Global Business Development Manager

Remote - within the UK (periodic travel UK and International)

Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 + £75,000 OTE

The Opportunity

Our client is looking for a driven, strategic Global Business Development Manager to join their growing team. This role involves:

  • Driving multi-channel lead generation
  • Managing the end-to-end sales cycle
  • Building long-term relationships with strategic clients and partners

You’ll play a key role in positioning their integrated offerings—events, media, community, and demand generation—as a unified growth platform for clients.

Key Responsibilities

Market Intelligence & Industry Mapping

  • Map regional ecosystems to identify high-potential sectors, accounts, and decision-makers.
  • Track market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a dynamic database of target accounts and stakeholders for strategic planning.

Lead Generation & Pipeline Development

  • Develop multi-channel lead gen strategies (cold outreach, referrals, LinkedIn, partnerships, events).
  • Maintain a strong, healthy, predictable sales pipeline while ensuring consistent funnel velocity.
  • Achieve high conversion rates from prospecting to closure.

Appointment Setting & Lead Qualification

  • Secure meetings with key decision-makers at target accounts.
  • Qualify leads using frameworks like BANT (Budget, Authority, Need, Timeline).
  • Prioritise high-revenue, strategic opportunities.

Business Development & Revenue Ownership

  • Own end-to-end sales cycles (prospecting → negotiation → closure).
  • Sell integrated solutions, including:
    • Corporate events (summits, symposiums)
    • Regional roundtables
    • Targeted lead generation campaigns
    • Exclusive webinars, communities, and media assets
  • Consistently exceed quarterly/annual revenue targets.

Key Account Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with strategic clients.
  • Act as a trusted adviser, aligning solutions with client goals.
  • Drive account growth via upselling, cross-selling, and renewals.

Solution Selling & Proposal Development

  • Craft customised proposals and value propositions tied to client objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design tailored engagement solutions.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing, content, and delivery teams for seamless project execution.
  • Provide market feedback to refine offerings and go-to-market strategies.

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipelines.
  • Track KPIs (conversion rates, deal size, sales cycle, revenue contribution).
  • Report CRM-driven performance updates and ensure data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

  • Strong B2B sales experience, preferably in events, media, or technology.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Confidence in engaging C-level executives with credibility and influence.
  • Strategic thinking + execution capability.
  • High ownership mindset—accountability and results-driven.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and a data-driven approach.
