About the Role

The Public Sector Business Development Manager is responsible for origination, development, and closure of opportunities across new logo and developing accounts. This role focuses on:

  • Developing and closing new opportunities through Node4’s portfolio and deep Public Sector understanding.
  • Reporting directly to the Public Sector Sales Director or Sector Lead.

Strategy & Planning

  • Identify, pursue, and land leads; proactively hunt for new opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to achieve prospective account and client objectives
  • Apply sector-specific understanding to support origination and territory development
  • Assess customer needs and tailor appropriate product recommendations
  • Develop proposals and execute client negotiations
  • Partner strategically to co-sell and expand territory presence

Execution

  • A deep understanding of Public customer needs and market trends in the sector
  • Expertise in Public procurement strategies and engagement requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT Services and Node4’s offerings
  • Continuous monitoring of industry trends and competitors
  • Advocacy for corporate objectives, meanwhile highlighting key selling messages
  • Delivery of exceptional client service to position Node4 as the best-in-class IT Services provider
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to create high-quality proposals and pitch materials

What Will You Bring?

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years in sales (ideally with client-facing IT services new business success)
  • Demonstrated track record of achievement and resilience in hitting targets

Sector Experience

  • 2+ years within the Public Sector, with a proven understanding of procurement and engagement models

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales/Marketing, or a related field (while not mandatory, equivalent professional experience will be considered)

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with expertise in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint -CRM or Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience useful but not essential
  • Foundational knowledge of modern technology landscape and emerging trends

Soft Skills & Executive Presence

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior presentation skills to influence C-suite stakeholders effectively
  • Ability to collaborate across sales and service stakeholders

Specific Technical Domain Experiences

  • Profven sales success in one or more of the following:
    • Microsoft Dynamics 365 or CRM solutions
    • Microsoft Modern Workplace solutions (e.g. SharePoint)
    • Microsoft Data solutions (e.g. Data Lake, Power BI analytics tools)
    • Microsoft Cloud solutions (e.g. Azure compute, identity protection, access management)
  • Preference for those with proven co-selling experience with strategic partners (particularly with Microsoft)
