Business Development Manager
Business Development Manager – Intermediary Team
About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to join our Intermediary Team. This is a key role, where you will:
- Manage and grow relationships with intermediary partners, networks, and clubs
- Ensure we meet the Society’s financial targets
- Deliver outstanding service, expertise, and support to our intermediary partners
Key Responsibilities
- Growing relationships: Manage and maintain professional relationships with Intermediary Partners, networks, and clubs to drive success against financial targets and product mix objectives.
- Education & advocacy: Educate intermediaries about our mortgage proposition, tailored to their clients’ needs.
- Presentation skills: Design and deliver compelling presentations showcasing our mortgage proposition to networking groups or industry events.
- Engagement & Representation: Represent the Society and mutuality principles effectively while attending team meetings, club roadshows, and industry conferences.
- Shared feedback loop: Listen to intermediaries’ insights to continuously improve our offering.
- Adaptability: Tailor communication styles to suit individual intermediary personalities, including handling frustrated intermediaries with patience and problem-solving.
- Opportunity identification: Spot growth opportunities and create proposals for committee review.
- Collaborate with Marketing: Ensure accurate, relevant external marketing literature aligns with_Initatives._
- Team support: Assist colleagues across the team or departments—sharing mortgage expertise for learning, training, and casework resolution.
- Declined cases & problem-solving: Review declined cases, liaise with intermediaries, and propose credible solutions.
- Expertise building: Stay current with mortgage knowledge and establish the Society as the Intermediary expert.

Requirements & Qualifications
Candidates should be:
- Dynamic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated professionals
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage diverse audiences
- Bachelor’s mortgage experience combined with analytical problem-solving
- Team player and independent worker with ** mortgage market knowledge**
- Adaptable, empathetic, and empathetic communicator

- Competitive starting salary: £50,000.00 per annum
- Hybrid work model (8:45am–5:00pm, Mon–Fri; flexible days included)
