Business Development Manager (Europe)

About the Role

ABI Research is seeking a dynamic, intellectually curious, Business Development Manager to drive sales growth across the European region. In this critical role, you will lead new business acquisition, manage existing accounts, and sell syndicated research subscriptions alongside custom research solutions.

You will collaborate with our global network of analysts, work alongside sales operations and support teams based in the US, and report directly to the Vice President, Sales. Success will require the ability to quickly evaluate prospects’ needs, align ABI Research’s offerings with client challenges, and execute high-impact sales strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Growth & Strategy

  • Triage and engage with inbound leads in a fast-paced, high-activity environment
  • Drive European sales growth by acquiring new clients and expanding existing accounts
  • Sell syndicated research subscriptions, custom research solutions, and consulting services to corporate clients across diverse industries
  • Identify and pursue high-value business opportunities, targeting key accounts and untapped markets
  • Align prospects’ business needs with ABI Research’s capabilities through rapid consultation
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Sales to develop, execute, and refine sales strategies

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and sustain strong client relationships by understanding business needs and tailoring solutions
  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure retention and satisfaction across new and existing customers

Collaboration with Analysts & Teams

  • Work closely with global analysts to stay updated on research insights, market trends, and client requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams (analysts, sales operations, marketing) for seamless solution delivery
  • Coordinate with the US-based support team to optimise engagement and sales processes

Market & Industry Engagement

  • Develop and maintain deep industry expertise, tracking trends and competitive landscapes in European markets
  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to represent ABI Research and expand visibility

Requirements

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in B2B markets
  • Proven success in selling complex research-based solutions or consulting services
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team, managing multiple time zones and priorities
  • Familiarity with CRM software (ABI Research uses HubSpot) and marketing automation
  • Willingness to travel across Europe for client meetings and events

Location & Flexibility

This role will report to our London office, with flexibility for a hybrid home/office schedule.
