Business Development Partner – Public Sector (Cambridge, Norfolk, East Midlands, Yorkshire & North East)
About Jewson Partnership Solutions (JPS)
Jewson Partnership Solutions (JPS) specialise in providing innovative solutions and building materials tailored to the Public Sector, including Housing Associations and Local Authorities. We are seeking a commercially driven and relationship-focused professional to transform new business opportunities and strengthen long-term partnerships.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive business developer who thrives on building trust, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering outstanding customer solutions. You’ll work across the social housing and public sector markets, driven by collaboration, innovation, and strategic impact.
What You’ll Be Doing
Core Responsibilities

Identify and develop new business opportunities – Target social housing and public sector customers, from Housing Associations to Local Authorities, across Cambridge, Norfolk, the East Midlands, Yorkshire, and the North East.

Build trusted partnerships – Engage with key decision-makers to position JPS as a strategic supplier who understands and delivers value.

Craft innovative solutions – Develop evidence-led proposals that enhance customer efficiency and outcomes.

Manage sales pipelines – Track opportunities through CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and maintain a strong pipeline of potential deals.

Collaborate across internal teams – Work closely with Bid, Estimating, Operations, and Partnerships to deliver winning customer solutions.

Support customer engagement – Assist in contract mobilisation, retention, and ongoing relationship management.

Represent JPS externally – Participate in exhibitions, customer events, and industry networking to bolster brand credibility.

Champion social value – Lead initiatives that strengthen community partnerships and demonstrate societal impact.

- Monitor market trends – Stay ahead of public sector procurement developments, customer needs, and competitive insights to drive growth.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, with a customer-facing focus.
- Preferred sector experience – Familiarity with Public Sector or social housing procurement is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Sharp commercial acumen – Track record of driving profitable growth and delivering measurable results.
- Exceptional communication, presentation & negotiation skills – Ability to influence, persuade, and build rapport at all levels.
- Strong relationship-building abilities – Experience in collaborating with internal/external stakeholders.
- Stringent organisational skills – Must be capable of managing pipelines, priorities, and reporting efficiently.
- Cross-functional collaboration – Experience working with multiple business teams (Bid, Sales, Operations, etc.).
- Government procurement knowledge – Understanding of public sector contracts, policies, and commercial agreements.
- Technical proficiency – Confident in using Microsoft Office and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
