Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Professional role based in the United Kingdom. The Business Development Professional will identify and pursue new business opportunities, including sourcing leads, qualifying prospects, and building a strong pipeline of construction projects. Daily responsibilities include conducting market research, tracking tenders, preparing proposals and bids, and coordinating with estimating and project teams to align on pricing and delivery capabilities. The role will also involve meeting with potential and existing clients, attending industry events, and maintaining a robust network of contacts in the construction sector. The professional will monitor competitor activity, provide input into sales and marketing strategies, and report on performance against business development targets. Collaboration with senior leadership to refine go-to-market plans and support strategic partnerships will be an ongoing part of the role. Qualifications Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within construction, engineering, or related sectors. Strong skills in lead generation, pipeline management, and closing deals, with the ability to meet or exceed growth targets. Comfortable conducting market research, analyzing data, and preparing clear, concise reports and presentations for stakeholders. Ability to prepare and support tenders, proposals, and bids, working closely with technical and estimating teams. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with clients, partners, and internal teams. Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with the UK construction market, procurement processes, and basic commercial or contract principles is an advantage. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Proficiency with CRM systems and standard office software (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations, word processing). Willingness to travel to client sites, project locations, and industry events across the United Kingdom as needed.
