Business Development - Regional Head

Business Development – Regional Head

** Reporting to: Head of Distribution**

The Business Development Regional Head will drive the growth of Isio’s investment management (DFM) solutions within their region by cultivating strong relationships with UK financial advisers, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering tailored investment solutions aligned with client needs. This role ensures sustained business growth while maintaining exceptional client service and strict adherence to regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and develop new opportunities to distribute investment management services, primarily targeting UK financial advisers.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective client firms through networking and strategic outreach.

Client Relationship Management

  • Establish and nurture long-term partnerships with intermediary firms, supporting their investment propositions for end clients.
  • Provide bespoke solutions that meet client requirements and contribute to their growth.

Sales & Marketing Strategy Execution

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to tailor sales approaches and investment recommendations.
  • Actively contribute to and implement the marketing strategy by:
    • Raising Isio’s profile as a thought leader.
    • Acting as an ambassador through:
      • Networking events.
      • Investment seminars.
      • CPD training events.
      • Sponsorships.
      • Conferences.
      • LinkedIn engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Private Wealth, pensions consulting) to upsell cross-service solutions.

Market Expertise

  • Stay updated on market trends, macro economic shifts, regulatory changes, and competitor activity.
  • Provide insights into client needs and market demands to inform proposition development and service enhancement.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all activities align with relevant regulations, including FCA standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of:
    • Adviser relationships.
    • Due diligence processes for financial advisers.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achievement of individual and team sales targets.
  • Growth in:
    • Client base.
    • Assets Under Management (AUM).
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contribution to wider firm initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Sales & Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to close deals and exceed sales targets.
  • Client-Centric Approach: Strong interpersonal skills, with the capability to build trust and foster long-term relationships.
    • Proactive, independent outlook.
    • Highly motivated, articulate, and confident in presenting.
  • Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of:
    • Wealth management products.
    • Investment options.
    • Financial planning strategies.
  • Commercial Acumen: Skills to identify and capitalise on profitable opportunities.
  • Regulatory Awareness:
    • Familiarity with UK financial regulations.
    • Compliance with FCA requirements.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to leverage cross-functional teams to deliver integrated client solutions.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Preferred: Professional qualifications such as:
    • CISI Wealth Management.
    • CII Diploma in Financial Planning.
    • Equivalent recognised certifications.
  • Proven track record in:
    • DFM (Discretionary Fund Management).
    • Fund management or platform sales.
    • Wealth management strategy execution.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in:
    • CRM systems.
    • Financial planning tools.
