Business Development Representative

Retire the ERP.

Light exists to replace factory-era ERPs with software that feels alive. Our Smart Financial Platform gives modern, global companies superpowers—automated accounting, real-time reporting, and financial flows that move at the speed of the business.

We build with our customers, ship fast, and obsess over craft. In a short time, Light has gone from idea to the operating core for leading companies like Lovable, Legora, and Keyshot. People don’t just use Light—they enjoy it.

We’re an early team defining a new software category. Think engineers who love debits and credits, designers who care about reconciliation states, and operators who treat finance as a product. If you’re excited to modernize how the world runs money—one workflow at a time—you’re in the right place.

Backed by world-class investors and advised by industry titans, we’re building category-defining products with the freedom to ship ambitiously and own outcomes. Come help us make Light the global default for next-gen finance. The BDR role Owning the top of the funnel by generating and qualifying pipeline for our sales team. Running outbound prospecting: email, LinkedIn, cold calling - to engage decision-makers in target industries (asset-light, multinational companies). Booking high-quality meetings with finance leaders and C-suite executives, understanding their needs and positioning Light's value. Developing personalized outreach strategies and messaging to break into target accounts. Collaborating closely with Account Executives to ensure seamless handoffs and pipeline efficiency. Tracking and optimizing outreach efforts, using tools like Amplemarket, HubSpot, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Working with your AE to support sales cycles to build your end-to-end sales cycle experience - we don't want you to be a BDR forever. How you fit into the team Your mission is to help prospects see the light. This is a full-cycle BDR role, meaning you'll drive outbound prospecting while working closely with AEs to build pipeline. You'll work alongside a small but stellar team that deeply understands the market and has done this before. Your qualifications could be 2-3 years of outbound sales experience (recruiting, event sales, etc) OR 1 year experience as a BDR in a SaaS environment A proven track record of booking meetings and generating pipeline that converts into revenue. Exceptional communication skills. Clear, concise, and persuasive across email, phone, and live conversations High phone confidence. This is a phone heavy role with daily cold calling A hunter mentality: you're proactive, resilient, and energized by outreach. Strong organization and attention to detail. CRM hygiene and follow ups are second nature Comfort in a fast-paced startup environment, thriving amidst change and high expectations. Coachable and desire to learn about tech, SaaS, and business acumen Prior quota carrying experience with consistent target overachievement Bonus points: Any amount of Audit/Accounting experience, a finance degree, or previous experience selling to the office of the CFO Experience selling financial software, ERPs, or fintech solutions. Prior success using sales automation/prospecting tools (Amplemarket, Salesloft, Outreach, HubSpot). Cold-calling wizardry - if you really want to get on our radar, give us a call and pitch us. AI maximalist mindset. You actively experiment with AI tools, build side projects, or use AI to improve prospecting, research, and workflow efficiency. A few tips to stand out Show us who you are through your application and don't limit yourself to a resume. Try not to be generic. Have numbers to show so you can measure impact? Even better! Most people can say they wanna work in a startup, but why this one? What are your expectations and what do you specifically wanna learn from us? Show us your entrepreneurial spirit. Tell us about side hustles, projects, experiments, or opportunities you created for yourself. We value builders who take initiative and get their hands dirty. The good stuff In addition to being part of a great team and working in a really fun and innovative environment, we offer: 💸 A competitive salary + potential stock options 🍼 Paid parental leave. 🏝 Generous package of paid annual leave + public holidays in the country where you are based. 🥳 Regular socials and company off-sites (last time was France and next time is in October). 🚀 A huge opportunity for career growth as you'll help shape a market-defining product. The famous last words Working at Light means you're embarking on an exciting journey to reshape the future of multinational financial operations. Our cheat-code is that we've built something like this before - and are now doing it again, only better. Our goal is to make global finance effortless and empower companies to make informed decisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
