Business Development Representative (Outbound) – FE Investments
This is a role for someone who enjoys the energy of outbound prospecting and wants to see the direct impact of their work on a growing pipeline. You’ll be the first voice to FE Investments, turning cold calls into conversations and booking meetings that fuel our new business engine.
You’ll own the early stages of the sales journey, generating leads, and scheduling meetings. Along the way, you’ll refine your sales technique through regular training, collaborate with our Business Development Managers, and engage both on and offline by supporting adviser events, regional roadshows, and client lunches—opportunities to build relationships in a regulated yet supportive environment.
This is a hybrid role based at our London office, with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls to prospective clients, introducing and promoting FE Investments’ products and services.
- Proactively generate leads and schedule calls/meetings for the sales team.
- Deliver tailored, compelling pitches, handling objections confidently and converting opportunities.
- Meet or exceed meeting-scheduling targets and KPIs set by the Director of New Business.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date customer information in the CRM.
- Collaborate closely with Business Development Managers and the sales team, aligning on messaging, target firms, and pipeline priorities, including support for adviser events and roadshows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
