Business Development Representative

About Us

Orkes is a platform for developers to build durable, distributed event-driven applications. Based on the popular open-source orchestration engine Conductor, Orkes lets developers focus on faster go-to-market with applications, scaling them to handle billions of workflows without having to worry about failures, scalability, or visibility into the executions.

As a Sales Development Representative

Your mission is to book first meetings and demos for our sales team. You will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. Following up on cold and warm leads, you will seek to increase sales by working with new contacts via telephone, email, and chat. We’re looking for someone who is adept at developing trust and providing value to prospective customers. We are a high-growth start-up, so you’ll need to be highly flexible, a self-starter, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Your Day-to-day At Orkes

  • Generate qualified sales demos and meetings
  • Direct outreach to inbound leads via email, LinkedIn, and calls with highly relevant and personalized emails and calls
  • Source opportunities with our target accounts through cold emails and calls in collaboration with the marketing team and the ABM campaign
  • Participation in online conversations (i.e., LinkedIn) with interested people, relevant conversation topics, and target accounts
  • Conduct research on inbound and outbound target people and companies
  • Collaborate with the sales team to advance target accounts
  • Deep understanding of the product and target audiences
  • Enter, update, and maintain CRM information on leads throughout the funnel

Qualities That Will Help You Succeed

  • Experience in sales development or inside sales roles, with a consistent track record of over attainment of weekly and monthly targets
  • Highly self-motivated with an obsession on outbound prospecting and working with prospects on understanding their pain points and offering solutions to address them
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish relationships with prospects and internal stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of outbound sales methodologies, prospecting techniques, and sales processes
  • Experience working with CRM and sales enablement tools (e.g., HubSpot, 6Sense, ZoomInfo, Gong, Apollo, Outreach, Sales Navigator)

You Will Have a Fast Start If

  • Prior experience selling commercial cloud services / products based on open-source developer platform is a huge plus
  • Comfortable speaking about workflows, microservices, containers, serverless
  • Strong ability to articulate, educate, and sell the business value to businesses of all sizes

More Details

The base salary for this role is between £41,000 to £47,000 GBP with OTE of £54,000 to £62,000 GBP. When determining compensation, a number of factors will be considered: skills, experience, job scope, location, and competitive compensation market data.
