Business Development Representative - Public Safety and Professional Communications

Europe-Business Development Representative (Public Safety & Professional Communications)

**L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Europe-based Business Development Representative to drive strategic growth in the public safety and professional communications sector, with a focus on 3GPP MCX (Mission Critical Services) and Land Mobile Radio (LMR) technologies (e.g., Tetra, DMR).

This critical role involves developing strategic business relationships, expanding market presence, and collaborating closely with Europe’s account management salesforce to develop and close key deals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Business Opportunity Development

    • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within public safety, government, transportation, utilities, and professional communications sectors.
  • Strategic Growth Planning

    • Develop, execute, and align regional growth strategies with market priorities and business objectives.
  • Relationship & Partner Management

    • Build and sustain strong relationships with end-users, government stakeholders, channel partners, system integrators, and industry influencers.
  • Localised Support & Partner Network Development

    • Identify and develop Consultants, Dealers, and Representatives (CDRs) to support localized market access, sales expertise, and customer engagement.
  • Indirect Sales & Partner Ecosystem Expansion

    • Evaluate and expand indirect sales channels and partner ecosystems to drive regional coverage and customer engagement.

  • Capture & Opportunity Planning

    • Support capture planning, opportunity shaping, and partner teaming strategies for critical pursuits.
  • Product Positioning & Go-to-Market Alignment

    • Assist in developing business cases, value propositions, presentations, and go-to-market materials tailored to specific countries and customer segments.
  • Market Intelligence & Insights

    • Gather and communicate market intelligence, customer requirements, competitive insights, and regulatory considerations to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams

    • Work closely with product management, sales, marketing, solutions engineering, and leadership to align solutions with regional market needs.
  • Representation & Public Engagement

    • Act as L3Harris spokesperson at customer meetings, trade events, demonstrations, and industry engagements across Europe and occasionally the US.
  • Travel Requirement (Up to 75%)

    • Willingness to travel frequently, including Europe, UK, and the US, to support sales and strategic activities.

Essential Qualifications

  • Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Relevant Business Development/Sales Experience: Proven track record in business development, sales, channel development, or market expansion within the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) market.
  • Regional Expertise: Strong understanding of Europe’s public safety and professional communications landscape.
  • Channel Partner Experience: Experience working with or selling through distributors, dealers, consultants, or representatives.
  • Localised Partnership Development: Ability to identify, recruit, and develop CDR networks to support regional growth.
  • Relationship Building & Negotiation: Exceptional dealing, commercial acumen, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Global & Cultural Adaptability: Comfort working independently across multiple countries, cultures, and in a matrixed international environment.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Technical Familiarity:
    • Experience with 3GPP MCX solutions.
    • Hands-on knowledge of Tetra systems and standards.
  • End-User Insights: Background as a mission-critical communications end-user (public safety, government, transportation, utilities, or industrial).
  • European Market Expertise:
    • Knowledge of European procurement environments, regulations, and country-specific market dynamics.
  • Multilingual Ability: Fluent or proficient in additional European languages is advantageous.
