Business Development Representative (UK)
Business Development Representative – Sustainable Finance & ESG Compliance
Our company is [WeeFin] – the European SaaS platform for sustainable finance. We empower asset managers, asset owners, banks, and insurers to navigate the complexities of ESG data and regulation, transforming SFDR, CSRD, and EU Taxonomy requirements into strategic advantages at the intersection of regulatory change and digitalisation.
We’re expanding our commercial team and are seeking a driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to accelerate growth across Europe and North America.
About the Role
As a BDR, you’ll play a pivotal role in WeeFin’s revenue engine, owning the entire top-of-funnel process:
- Identify and engage key decision-makers across financial institutions
- Qualify both outbound and inbound leads using the MEDDIC framework
- Conduct discovery conversations and hand off qualified sales opportunities to Account Executives
This is a role for someone who’s hungry to learn, values genuine expertise, and thrives in one of the fastest-growing sectors within financial services.
Your Responsibilities
Outbound Prospecting
- Research and build highly targeted account lists for financial institutions (asset managers, owners, banks, and insurers) in Europe and North America, pinpointing decision-makers and influencers
- Execute personalised multi-touch campaigns via LinkedIn, email, and phone, balancing volume with relevance
- Engage senior stakeholders such as Heads of ESG, CIOs, Heads of Compliance, and CFOs with insight-driven messaging aligned to their regulatory and investment needs
- Represent WeeFin at industry events and conferences, fostering relationships and generating pipeline in person
Sales Qualification
- Apply MEDDIC framework (Metrics, Economic Buyer, Decision Criteria, Decision Process, Identification of Pain, Champion) to qualify both sourced and marketing-driven leads, evaluating fit, urgency, budget, and decision structure
- Lead discovery conversations to assess prospect pain points in ESG data challenges, compliance priorities, and evaluation timelines
- Convert qualified prospects into Sales Qualified Opportunities (SQOs) and prepare structured handoff briefings for Account Executives at the Benefits Validation stage

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
