An international professional services firm is seeking a Business Development Specialist to support its high-performing Private Equity practice in London.

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, this role will help deliver business development and client growth initiatives across London and Europe, working closely with colleagues across the UK, US and Asia. It offers the opportunity to partner with senior stakeholders on strategic projects, pitches, client relationships and profile-raising activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of business development and client growth plans for the Private Equity practice.
  • Prepare high-quality pitches, proposals, presentations and client-facing materials.
  • Conduct client, market and competitor research to identify opportunities and inform strategy.
  • Coordinate business development meetings, client initiatives and follow-up actions.
  • Support key client relationship programmes and track BD activity and reporting.
  • Maintain marketing collateral, lawyer biographies, capability statements and CRM data.
  • Assist with thought leadership, legal directory submissions, awards and profile-raising initiatives.
  • Support the planning and delivery of client events, conferences and sponsorships.
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, events and international BD teams on cross-border projects.

About You

  • Degree educated with at least 3 years' business development experience in a professional services environment (legal experience advantageous but not essential).
  • Strong written communication skills with experience producing tailored client-facing materials.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Commercially aware, proactive and collaborative, with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and CRM/BD tools; familiarity with AI tools and BD platforms is advantageous.
  • Interest or experience in Private Equity and European markets is desirable.
