Business Development Specialist– Digital Engineering
Element is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Specialist– Digital Engineering to support the growth of its Digital Engineering business across England. Working alongside senior commercial leaders and technical specialists, you will identify new opportunities, develop client relationships, and help deliver innovative digital engineering solutions that improve product development, manufacturing efficiency, quality, and compliance.
This role is ideal for an ambitious sales professional with an interest in engineering, technology, and digital transformation. You will help customers accelerate innovation by leveraging Element's expertise in engineering services, digital solutions, testing, inspection, certification, and data-driven technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and marketing campaigns.
- Develop relationships with engineering, quality, manufacturing, R&D, and digital transformation leaders across target industries.
- Support the full sales process, including lead qualification, discovery meetings, proposal development, quotations, and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with Digital Engineering consultants and technical experts to develop customer-focused solutions.
- Promote Element's digital engineering capabilities to both new and existing customers.
- Maintain accurate sales opportunities, forecasts, and customer activities within Salesforce CRM.
- Support strategic account growth by identifying cross-selling opportunities across Element's Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) services.
- Prepare commercial presentations, capability statements, and customer proposals.
- Attend customer visits, industry exhibitions, technical conferences, and networking events throughout the UK.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to identify new market opportunities.
- Work closely with Marketing to execute lead generation campaigns and customer engagement initiatives.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales activity and revenue objectives.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Technology, or a related discipline preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, or customer-facing commercial roles.
- Experience selling engineering services, software, SaaS, consulting, digital transformation, or industrial technology is preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into customer value.
- Experience using Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout England.
