Partnership/Business Director

George Bacon Media Group

About Us

Who is GBM Group, I hear you ask? Well, you probably already know who we are without realising it!

We own and operate a network of highly-engaged youth communities on social media. We have 18+ pages - including Great British Memes, That Girl Page, That Student Page, and more - which across all social channels reach over 500 million scrollers every month. The vast majority of our social following comes from right here in our home market: the UK.

We’re split into three core departments: Partnerships, Editorial, and Creative. This role sits at the absolute helm of the Partnerships team.

To sum it up: we’re a fast-growing, hyper-visible media powerhouse that is chronically online, making organic and paid memes and video content for the masses… and we're ready to scale our commercial footprint.

Sound like a bit of you? Read below!

The Role

We are looking for a heavy hitting, commercially driven Business Director to join our brand partnerships division. This is a senior, high-growth position designed for a strategic seller and relationship builder who thrives on converting cultural relevance into massive commercial revenue.

In this role, you won't just be managing accounts - you will be hunting, pitching, and closing major revenue streams. You will leverage your deep, existing network of senior agency and brand direct contacts to build an aggressive, high value sales pipeline from scratch.

Crucially, you will act as a commercial visionary for GBM Group. You'll work alongside the Director of Marketing Commercial Strategy and CEO to identify gaps in the market, support our digital ecosystem with wider commercial opportunities (for example events, licensing, sponsorships, data), and turn one-off campaign wins into long term, high value retained partnerships.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Master Pitcher: Exceptional presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to command a room and navigate complex, high value stakeholder contracts.
  • Social Fluency: A deep understanding of digital culture, paid social frameworks (Meta, TikTok, Snapchat boosting), and how brands can authentically tap into Gen Z.
  • Leadership Energy: A proactive, high energy leader who thrives in a fast-paced, startup-style environment and doesn't wait for permission to win business.
