Business Engineering – Impact-Focused Software Engineer
Business Engineering is looking for impact-focused engineers ready to bring their ideas and make a difference. We are technology experts that apply our software engineering skills to deliver a unique blend of business and technology expertise, ensuring our partners succeed.
Our team operates at the intersection of business and innovation, where you will execute on solving real-world business challenges using Meta’s platforms and community. You’ll work across today’s most exciting industries and products, including:

You’ll build scalable production-grade code in partnership with product engineering teams. The role offers the opportunity to:

About the Role
You will:
- Work at the frontlines of business transformations, collaborating with internal and external partners to define and deliver impactful solutions.
- Contribute to shaping Meta’s future tech trajectory while empowering industry partners.
- Own the design and execution of end-to-end systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives while maintaining technical excellence.
- Serve as a strategic technical advisor, guiding long-term roadmaps and influencing decision-making across teams.

Responsibilities

Collaborative Product Development
- Build new products and improve existing ones in cross-functional teams, ensuring solutions meet business goals at scale.
- Contribute to launch strategies and execution plans.

Scalable Technical Leadership
- Use domain expertise and product insights to tackle complex challenges with innovative solutions.
- Design end-to-end systems and ensure efficient integration with Meta’s platforms.

Partner & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain trust and consensus with external industry partners and internal stakeholders.
- Develop long-term strategic partnerships grounded in data-driven decisions.
- Foster productive technical relationships and mentor peers.

Communication & Influence
- Articulate technical and business concepts to non-technical audiences via data-backed recommendations.
- Present findings to drive key decisions and roadmap influence.

Quality & Collaboration
- Conduct code reviews and incorporate feedback to maintain high standards.
- Actively contribute to open-source projects, documentation, and shared knowledge within Meta.

- Leadership & New Talent Onboarding

- Willingness to travel 25% of the time for collaboration efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, building and shipping production-quality code.
- Proficiency in open-source languages/frameworks, including:
- PHP
- Python
- Java
- JavaScript
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Build scalable, reliable, and efficient systems with long-term maintainability in mind.
- Collaborate with reviewers to deliver code in manageable, well-documented increments with comprehensive test plans.
- Strong experience in software design and architecture.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Hold (or be about to complete) a Bachelor’s degree in:
- Computer Science
- Computer Engineering
- Relevant technical field
- Equivalent practical experience qualifications apply.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience contributing to open-source projects or large-scale shared codebases.
- Experience leading multi-person development teams on technical projects.
- Background in contributing to technical documentation and developer platforms.
- Strong client/partner-facing communication skills.
- Proven success in collaborative environments with aligned teams.
