Business Improvement Manager – Permanent, Full Time
Location: Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, or Inverness (50% office-based) Salary: £50,100 – £75,100 Package: Salary + car/allowance + performance-related bonus + flexible benefits
The Role
The Business Improvement Team, part of the Business Excellence function, applies structured improvement methodologies to drive strategic change across our Network Directorate. As Business Improvement Manager, you’ll lead continuous improvement and operational excellence, ensuring efficient and effective processes that deliver value to the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and managing workstreams aligned to the Network Operational Excellence Programme, continuous improvement projects, and rapid improvement events.
- Facilitating workshops using proven tools and techniques to achieve measurable impact on business outcomes.
- Cultivating a continuous improvement culture, empowering teams to embed problem-solving and productivity enhancements in daily work.
- Embedding visual management, including KPI scorecard ownership and maintenance.
- Partnering with teams and managers to challenge the status quo, delivering sustained, positive change.

About You
To succeed in this role, you should bring:
- Proven experience in systems thinking, Operational Excellence, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building abilities.
- Clear verbal, written, and presentation skills with confidence in relaying complex information.
- A collaborative, proactive mindset—self-motivated and independently capable.
- Critical thinking capabilities to analyse challenges, devise solutions, and focus on end-user impact.
