About us
We're an insurance technology start-up from Brazil, founded by a serial founder based in the UK. We're profitable, and our data-extraction and risk-analysis AI engine is in production within the business insurance ops inside a major Brazilian bank. We're now shaping our entry into the UK market (in stealth for the moment).
The role
A part-time, remote advisory engagement (a few hours per month, flexible). More than answering specific questions, we're looking for a thinking partner: someone to pressure-test and validate our ideas as we shape our UK entry.
You'll help us with questions like:
- Where do underwriting and insurance operations hurt most today: insurer, MGA, Lloyd's syndicate, or broker side?
- What would an insurance team genuinely pay for, versus what's just a nice-to-have?
- How do the tools teams already use (or tried and shelved) compare with what we have in mind?
- What would a realistic first pilot in the UK look like?

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who you are
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in UK Commercial Insurance, ideally in Financial Lines, Surety, Commercial Property, or other specialty commercial lines, with deep operational exposure to underwriting workflows, submissions, renewals, broker interactions, and policy administration.
- Experience as an Underwriter, Underwriting Manager, Underwriting Operations Lead, or in MGA, carrier, or broker operations leadership.
- You know the operational realities of insurance teams because you've worked through them yourself—not just observed them.
- You're direct, pragmatic, and comfortable challenging assumptions, including telling a founder when an idea won't work.
