Business Intelligence Developer

Central Bristol office – onsite working
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Comprehensive benefits package

BI Developer: About the Role

We're working with a growing, data-driven organisation looking to appoint an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join their established data team. You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining reports, dashboards and data solutions using the Microsoft BI stack, ensuring data accuracy, integrity and usability across the business.

BI Developer: Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
  • Write, optimise and troubleshoot complex T-SQL queries within SQL Server environments.
  • Extract, transform and analyse data from multiple business systems.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Manage and prioritise reporting requests through a ticketing/work queue system.
  • Take full ownership of BI tickets from initial request through to successful delivery.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency and governance standards are maintained.
  • Document reporting logic, data models and business rules.
  • Collaborate with wider technology and business teams to deliver effective reporting solutions.

  • Experience working with the Microsoft BI stack, including:
    • SQL Server
    • T-SQL
    • SSIS
    • Power BI
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience managing requests through ticketing or service management systems.
  • Ability to take ownership and deliver complete reporting solutions end-to-end.
  • Knowledge of dimensional modelling and Kimball methodology.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS advantageous).
