Job Title
Reporting to the Data Infrastructure Manager, you will own the day-to-day running and development of the Power BI platform at Birmingham Airport. You’ll ensure reliable data flows, build and evolve dashboards that answer real business questions, and act as the trusted go-to for colleagues across the organisation when they need new reporting or changes to existing content.
Key Responsibilities
- Power BI platform administration including workspaces, gateways, datasets, refresh schedules, access, and deployment pipelines.
- Design and build dashboards for stakeholders across operations, commercial, finance, customer experience, people, and security.
- Develop and maintain data models using star schema principles, robust DAX measures, and Power Query (M) transformations.
- Support data flows from SQL Server, Azure, SharePoint, and operational APIs into the Power BI platform.
- Gather and translate requirements into reporting solutions that drive adoption and business value.
- Optimise report performance including dataset refresh, capacity usage, and overall platform efficiency.

- Strong practical background in Power BI, with consistent delivery of high-quality reporting solutions.
- Strong DAX and Power Query (M) capability with clear understanding of good and bad patterns.
- Confident SQL (T-SQL) and dimensional modelling.
- Experience administering Power BI Service including workspaces, gateways, refresh, and security.
- Clear communication skills with ability to translate business language into data questions.
- Strong dashboard design sense including information hierarchy and usability.
