BI Developer

Up to £40,000
Hybrid - West Midlands (4x days per week)

Looking for an opportunity to make a real impact in a growing data function? This Power BI Developer role offers the chance to work on a major reporting transformation, helping to shape how data is used across the business. You'll join a collaborative team, gain exposure to Microsoft Fabric, and play a key role in delivering high-quality insights to stakeholders.

The Company

They are a well-established UK business with a large customer base and a broad product portfolio. Following significant investment in technology and a recent ERP implementation, they are continuing to modernise their data and reporting capabilities. Data is a key strategic focus, and this role sits within a growing Business Transformation team dedicated to improving decision-making across the organisation.

The Role

You will work alongside experienced data professionals to develop reporting solutions and support the evolution of a modern data platform.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports and data models
  • Creating DAX measures, visualisations and row-level security solutions
  • Contributing to the development of a new Microsoft Fabric data platform
  • Delivering ad hoc analysis and actionable insights for business stakeholders
  • Validating data, documenting assumptions and supporting reporting quality improvements
  • Working closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective reporting solutions
  • Supporting the wider data transformation programme through accurate and timely reporting

Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience developing reports and dashboards in Power BI
  • Solid SQL skills for querying and analysing data
  • Experience writing and optimising DAX measures
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A detail-oriented approach to data validation and reporting accuracy

Desirable experience:

  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience within wholesale, distribution or a similar operational environment
  • Power BI certification (PL-300)
  • Microsoft Fabric certifications such as DP-600 or DP-700
