BI Developer

Reports to: Head of Data & Analytics
Working Arrangements: Monday to Friday, 09:30 – 17:30, 3 days in the office
Location: London

Company Background:

The Thomas Miller Group is an independent and international provider of insurance, professional and investment services. One of its clients is the UK P&I Club, one of the leading insurers of ship owners' liabilities in the world. The Club is on an exciting journey to transform its use of technology and data and is seeking an analyst to join them on that path.

Overall Objective of Role:

To develop and deliver business intelligence within the Data & Analytics team, turning curated data into trusted Power BI reporting used across the business. The role owns delivery end-to-end, from requirement through to live output, and contributes to how data is structured for analytics.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of BI reporting, from defining requirements with stakeholders through to published, documented outputs.
  • Develop and maintain robust semantic models and reports in Power BI, including data modelling, DAX measures, and Power Query transformations, ensuring outputs are well-structured, performant, and fit for purpose.
  • Work directly with stakeholders to scope work and translate business needs into clear analytical outputs.
  • Work with data engineers to ensure datasets are appropriately structured for reporting.
  • Contribute to how data is structured for analytics, including input into dimensional modelling and dataset design.
  • Ensure outputs are reliable and maintainable, applying appropriate standards in testing, documentation, and version control.
  • Support the adoption of self-service BI and help users get value from data and reporting tools.
  • Support and guide more junior team members in modelling, reporting, and analytical approach.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
