Business Manager
Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Manager to join their regional team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a hybrid role based in Cambridge, offering the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that supports communities, places, and long-term organisational impact. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing business operations, supporting performance monitoring, overseeing grant-related processes, and ensuring high standards across financial and administrative activities.
This position would suit a confident business operations professional with strong leadership skills, experience managing complex processes, and a sound understanding of financial management and governance.
Responsibilities
- Manage workloads across the Business Management Team, ensuring effective delivery of agreed practices, standards, and service expectations.
- Support the development of team capabilities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance in the delivery of grant-aid, advisory work, procurement, and financial administration.
- Act as a member of the Local Leadership Team, contributing to operational planning, performance monitoring, and management feedback.
- Advise senior stakeholders on operational budgets, grant budgeting, and related business processes.
- Provide quality assurance across key operational activities, including procurement and financial administration.
- Undertake quality control in relation to advisory and grant-related work.
- Support effective business planning, reporting, and governance across the regional team.

Requirements
- Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience.
- Experience managing complex business processes, including financial management.
- Proven track record of effective leadership, team management, and motivation.
- Awareness of management accounting principles.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to advise and influence stakeholders.
- Commitment to inclusive working practices and continuous improvement.
