Business Manager
Manager (Hays Recruitment – London – Financial Markets, Operations & Compliance)
We have an exciting internal opportunity for an experienced recruitment leader to work with and develop a team of 3 experienced recruiters alongside running an FS Operations or Compliance desk in Cheapside.
This role offers the chance to:

The Opportunity
This is a Manager-level role, leading a high-value specialist desk focused on both interim and permanent recruitment across the Financial Services sector:
- Average perm fee: £18,000
- High potential for personal billings
- Reputable, stable desk with loyal clients, consistent role flow, and clear growth headroom
Responsibilities
Leading & Developing Your Team
- Build a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, coaching, and collaboration
- Lead consultants through structured development plans and performance frameworks
- Role model strong pipeline management, client partnership, and fee consistency

Commercial Strategy & Ownership
- Drive a commercial plan accelerating revenue and market penetration
- Re-engage established relationships and expand the portfolio across key sectors
- Maintain strong client relationships and customer excellence (NPS)
- Stay adept with market trends, competitive activity, and client demand
Senior-Level Recruitment Delivery
- Run a 360-degree recruitment desk at leadership level, ensuring high-quality revenue
- Act as a trusted advisor for clients with complex, specialist hiring needs
- Guarantee excellence across compliance, process, and customer experience
Strategic Collaboration
- Partner closely with senior leadership to shape divisional priorities
- Influence best practice, operational excellence, and market strategy across Financial Markets
- Contribute to long-term planning and future workforce needs in your specialism
Requirements
You’ll thrive here if you:
- Are a Business Manager, Manager, or Managing Consultant (or equivalent leadership level)
- Have an impressive track record in revenue growth and team leadership
- Demonstrate strong commercial acumen and confidence in high-demand markets
- Bring resilience, ambition, and leadership presence to drive performance and culture
