Business Manager, Energy Trading

Energy/Commodity Trading Professional – Europe

Dynamic Energy Trading Business

About the Role

Our client, a thriving European Energy Trading business, seeks an experienced Energy/Commodity Trading Professional to join their trading function.

In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to the development of innovative energy products
  • Promote renewable energy solutions
  • Lead and support new product implementations and updates

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of: ✔ Deal lifecycles ✔ Market processes ✔ Regulatory frameworks in energy trading


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and support new product implementations and updates, coordinating requirements across:
    • Trading
    • Risk
    • Operations
    • IT
    • Supporting functions
  • Drive commercial prioritisation with the Front Office, structuring and evaluating:
    • A growing pipeline of product requests
  • Manage Single Deal Approvals (SDAs), ensuring:
    • Timely processing
    • Tactical implementation
  • Steer the implementation roadmap, balancing:
    • Multiple initiatives
    • Deadlines in a dynamic trading environment
  • Enable commercial teams by delivering:
    • Solutions for new business activities
    • Pragmatic support for ad-hoc requests

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Education

  • University degree in one of the following disciplines (or equivalent):
    • Economics
    • Computer Science
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Engineering

Experience & Technical Knowledge

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in commodity trading, preferably in:
    • Commercial roles
    • Middle office
    • Operations
  • Strong grasp of:
    • Deal lifecycle
    • Market processes
    • Regulatory frameworks in energy trading
  • Familiarity with:
    • ETRM systems
    • Data flows
    • Market platforms
    • Complex system architectures
