Description:
Love2Learn Education has grown quickly since 2021, from specialist SEND tuition into EOTAS provision, alternative provision, school partnerships and local authority commissioning. As we take the next step, we're looking for an exceptional Business Manager to help take our operations further.
About the role
The Business Manager leads the day to day operations of Love2Learn Education, working closely with our Principal to keep systems, administration, recruitment and compliance running smoothly, so our education team can stay focused on what matters most: the children and young people we support.
This role sits at the heart of the organisation and is expected to grow into a senior operational leadership position over time, with a clear path towards Director of Operations or Chief Operating Officer.
What you'll be doing
- Operations: managing enquiries, coordinating learner onboarding, maintaining our systems, and improving workflows and automation as we grow
- Recruitment & HR: coordinating safer recruitment, references and DBS checks, issuing contracts, and maintaining personnel records and training
- Finance: raising invoices, supporting payroll, monitoring cash flow, and supporting VAT and Making Tax Digital administration
- Compliance: maintaining policies, supporting GDPR and data protection records, and supporting quality assurance and audit preparation
- Business development & technology: supporting marketing and events, and becoming confident across our systems, including Microsoft 365, Xero, Canva and AI tools

Key details
- Hours: approximately 10 hours a week initially, term-time only, with hours expected to increase as the organisation grows
- Salary: £40,000–£46,000 full-time equivalent, pro rata, depending on experience (actual salary £9,149–£10,521)
- Working pattern: hybrid, with regular attendance expected at a Love2Learn Education centre once this is established
- Progression: Business Manager → Senior Business Manager → Director of Operations or Chief Operating Officer
What we're looking for
Essential: experience in an operations, administrative or education-sector role; experience supporting recruitment and working within a safeguarding framework; highly organised with strong written and verbal communication; a systems thinker who enjoys solving problems; warm, professional and collaborative; comfortable working independently; suitable to work with children and young people, subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Desirable: experience as a School Business Manager, in HR, finance or project management; experience using Xero or TutorCruncher; understanding of SEND, EOTAS or Alternative Provision.
