Senior Systematic Trading Business Manager (EMEA Quant Strategies)
A major, multi-strategy proprietary trading firm, expanding its European business, is seeking a smart, ambitious, driven individual to join its business management function in a key role focused on quant / systematic trading strategies.
About the Role
Reporting into a small, specialist business management team with ownership over the firm’s EMEA quant / systematic trading strategies, this role requires managing a broad yet strategic operational landscape:
- New desk / product launches and expansions into new jurisdictions / geographies
- Onboarding new investment professionals to support strategy execution
- Infrastructure development across:
- Front office (trade execution)
- Middle office (portfolio analytics, reporting)
- Back office (settlement, compliance)
- Broader business strategy, collaborating with managing partners to drive the long-term growth of quant/syst trading
- Acting as the bridge between trading, quant, tech, risk, and middle office teams, ensuring streamlined workflows
- External supplier / broker / third-party vendor management ( négotiations, performance tracking, cost optimisation)
The successful candidate will be a business leader, driving projects, maintaining clarity, and ensuring seamless execution of the firm’s quantitative trading operations.

Strategy Expansion
- Identify and execute regulatory adoption strategies in new EMEA markets
- Assess and drive viability of new investment product launches

Team & Talent Development
- Hire, onboard, and retain top-tier quants, traders, and support staff
- Develop career progression pathways for investment professionals

Operational Efficiency
- Continue back-office systems & tech infrastructure upgrades to enable speed and accuracy
- Oversee Risk / Compliance frameworks for quant systems

Cross-Discipline Alignment
- Facilitate communication between quant team, front-office traders, and tech / middle office
- Hold teams accountable for targets & strategic alignment

External Partnerships
- Manage contracting & vendor performance for brokers, data providers, and software
- Negotiate P&L-favourable agreements with suppliers
Experience & Requirements
- Proven track record (7–15 years) in:
- Business management/COO/strategy roles at an investment bank, prop trading firm, or hedge fund
- Or previously at a leading management consultancy with solid financial markets domain expertise (e.g., quant strategies, trading infrastructure)
- High-calibre academic/qualifications strongly considered:
- Industry platform (CFA, CQF preferred)
- Top-tier undergraduate/postgraduate degrees from relevant institutions
- Not essential but advantageous:
- Proficiency in technical analysis / coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL)
- Familiarity with quant trading platforms (IndyIO, dTrader, etc.)
