What is the role?

The Business Manager to the Group Chief Data Officer serves as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the Group CDO.

Sitting within the Group Data & Analytics leadership team, you will help coordinate and drive the overall effectiveness of a global function responsible for data strategy, analytics, AI, governance, and data management across the Howden Group.

You will help connect divisional data teams, business leaders, and corporate functions around a shared vision for data and AI at Howden.

Strategic Leadership & Executive Support

  • Partner closely with the Group CDO to shape and execute the Group Data & Analytics strategy.
  • Support the development of strategic plans, operating models, business cases, and investment proposals.
  • Conduct targeted research, analysis, and benchmarking to support executive decision-making.
  • Help identify opportunities to accelerate value from data, analytics, and AI across the Group.

Business Management & Operational Leadership

  • Coordinate annual business planning, budgeting, and workforce planning activities.
  • Support management of third-party partnerships, vendors, and strategic suppliers.
  • Coordinate leadership meetings, governance forums, and planning sessions.

AI, Data & Analytics Transformation

  • Coordinate initiatives spanning data, analytics, AI adoption, and organizational capability building.
  • Track strategic outcomes and benefits realization.
  • Support acquisition integration and growth initiatives.

  • Build strong relationships with divisional data leaders, business executives, and corporate functions.
  • Develop executive presentations, briefing materials, and leadership communications.

Governance, Performance & Insight

  • Develop reporting and insight packs for senior leadership.
  • Support tracking of objectives, key results, and strategic outcomes.

Community & Culture

  • Support the Group CDO in building a high-performing global data community.
  • Promote collaboration and best practice across divisional teams.

Experience

  • Experience in a Business Manager, Chief of Staff, Strategy, Operations, Transformation, or Consulting role.
  • Experience working with senior executives and leadership teams.
  • Experience operating in large, matrixed, or international organizations.

Skills

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Financial and commercial awareness.
