About the Role
We're looking for a Business Operations Associate to help keep Obelisk running smoothly as we grow. This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys the "behind the scenes" work that makes a business tick - clean data, clear processes, and nothing left waiting to be chased.
Experience in a legal, professional services, or compliance environment would be an excellent fit, such as a senior paralegal, legal operations professional, or operations administrator. This role reports to the CFO.
Responsibilities include:
- Workflow consistency and data quality
- Writing and maintaining our operational process library as workflows are built and refined
- Running a weekly rhythm of checks e.g. data quality, supplier renewals, compliance flags, job records/timesheets
- Tracking recurring data issues and surfacing patterns
- Compliance and supplier administration
- Building and maintaining a register of key operational and systems suppliers
- Tracking statutory / operational compliance requirements
- Maintaining the insurance policy schedule and renewal calendar
- Systems administration
- Acting as first point of contact for routine operational system queries, from Microsoft 365 to our own proprietary system
- Process improvement - spotting opportunities to simplify processes or remove inefficiencies

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
