Role Summary
You'll be the operational backbone of a Business Operations function we're actively building, one that exists to support the rest of the business. From day one, you'll own the processes and admin that keep it running smoothly, turning "how we do things" into clear, written policy people can actually follow. You'll work closely with the Business Operations Manager, learning fast and taking on real ownership as you find your feet. If you want breadth, variety, and the chance to shape process rather than just follow it, this role was built for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a day-to-day point of contact for business operations admin and processes, making them easy for the wider business to navigate and continuously improving them as the function matures.
- Draft, maintain, and version-control policies and process documentation on behalf of Business Operations, working with stakeholders across the business to make sure what's written reflects what actually happens.
- Support the Business Operations Manager on delegated projects and initiatives, taking ownership of defined pieces of work end to end.
- Help build the operational foundations of the function itself, trackers, templates, workflows, and standard ways of working other teams can rely on.
- Spot manual, repetitive processes and build light automations (using tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps, or Zapier) to remove friction and reduce admin burden.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and trackers across the business operations remit, with an eye for detail and audit-readiness.
- Support internal governance, compliance, and audit-readiness by maintaining evidence, records, and process documentation in an organised and accessible way.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in a business operations, coordinator, or admin role.
- Has owned a process or system, not just running tasks someone else designed.
- Resourceful by default. You work things out before you ask, but you're sharp enough to know when a decision needs sign-off before you act, rather than a guess.
- Comfortable adjusting how you communicate depending on who's in front of you; a senior leader, a supplier chasing payment, a colleague under pressure all need something different from you, and you know what.
- You understand that admin work isn't busywork - it's the foundation the business runs on. You catch your own errors before they become someone else's problem, and you don't need to be told twice why something matters.
- Basic comfort with workflow tools; Power Automate, Power Apps, Zapier, or similar. You don't need to be technical; we need to see that you naturally think in steps and logic when you hit a repetitive process, not that you're already an automation expert.

One Or More Would Be An Advantage
- Exposure to HR processes or documentation (onboarding, policy, employee lifecycle admin).
- Experience in a start-up or scale-up, specifically through a period of headcount growth.
- Has built a policy, handbook, or process from a blank page rather than inherited one already in place.
