Location: Remote (company-run, USA)
About the Role
Coupa transforms hiring, spending, and performance data into strategic clarity for leadership. As the Business Operations Lead within the Office of the Chief Product and Technology Office (CPTO), you’ll serve as the operational architect, shaping financial and operational rhythms through demand planning, budget optimization, contractor workforce coordination, and PO governance. You’ll partner across Finance, HR, Engineering, and key organizational functions to drive scalable growth while maintaining financial discipline in a large, diverse global organization.

What You’ll Do
Strategic Analysis & Reporting
- Compile and analyze weekly/monthly internal metrics (hiring, spending, performance) and present findings to the CPTO leadership team.
- Aid in target setting and spending initiatives within a $100M+ budget, driving efficiencies.
Process Governance & Coordination
- Partner with FinOps and Engineering to manage the contractor workforce, ensuring seamless alignment between contingent labor spend and financial reporting.
- Review and optimize the purchase order (PO) process, identifying process improvement opportunities and acting as a key gatekeeper for approvals.
Demand Planning & Budgeting
- Support the annual demand planning and budgeting cycle, developing business justifications for investment and prioritization recommendations.
- Coordinate a portfolio management-lite process to track and manage key projects and initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Streamline operations and drive scalability and growth through process improvements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives and foster organizational effectiveness.
Hiring & Workforce Strategy
- Support the hiring process, including approvals, process improvement, and global site strategy to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

What You Bring to the Table
Experience & Qualifications
- 8–10 years in a similar operational or strategic planning role (preferably in a large global SaaS environment).
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project coordination, contract management, or financial administration.
- Strong track record in budget forecasting, financial reporting, or procurement operations.
Skills & Mindset
- Analytical rigor with an ability to translate data into strategic action.
- Cross-functional leadership – shaping and implementing process improvements across departments.
- Independent problem-solving with the ability to work securely and collaboratively.
- Clear communication – conveying complex insights to non-technical and technical stakeholders alike.
