Business Process Outsourcing School Leaver Programme – Grant Thornton

At Grant Thornton, we do things differently—looking to the future, driving ambitious growth, and pioneering positive change in our industry.

Providing audit, tax, and advisory services, we empower clients through strategic insight, curiosity, and genuine partnership. And we empower our people with real opportunity, an inclusive culture, and work-life balance. A true alternative.

About the Role

With over 5,000 people in the UK and a presence in 150 global markets, we’re on an ambitious journey—from great to exceptional. This is your opportunity to help redefine what our industry looks like and what you want from your career.

Real responsibility. Real impact. Right from the start.

As a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) professional, you’ll be a trusted partner supporting clients with essential financial processes, ensuring businesses can:

  • Stay compliant
  • Manage finances effectively
  • Make informed decisions

From bookkeeping and financial reporting to payroll, VAT, and management accounting, our team ensures clients receive accurate, timely, and insightful financial information. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a variety of industries, understanding how businesses operate daily.

We’re looking for actively curious, purposefully driven, and candid but kind individuals ready to shape—not just follow—the future of business.

Our five-year BPO School Leaver Programme will launch you into a meaningful career, with a path to achieving a professional qualification (AAT, CFAB, or ACCA) and the chance to make a real impact on UK businesses.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver financial operations: Work alongside a dedicated team to maintain smooth, accurate, and timely client processes.
  • Learn by doing: With supportive mentorship, you’ll gain practical exposure to real-world challenges.
  • Diverse client experience: Handle projects for household brands and innovative start-ups, exploring different sectors and dynamics.
  • Hands-on accounting tasks: Complete bookkeeping from source documents, prepare month-end management reports, manage VAT returns and payment runs, and support other day-to-day financial processes.
  • Interacting with clients and stakeholders: Deepen your understanding of business operations by engaging directly with clients and auditors, addressing queries on management reporting and coordinating internal project workflows.
  • Leverage technology: Use data tools and accounting systems to streamline processes, ensure data accuracy, and achieve greater efficiency in meeting deadlines.
  • Continuous growth: Stay updated on regulatory changes, develop professional judgement, and build relationships with mentors and industry experts.
  • Professional progression: Study towards your AAT, CFAB, or ACCA with:
    • Dedicated study time built into your workload
    • Expert tuition
    • Full reimbursement of course fees

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
