Description

The Business QA Junior Associate will be embedded within cross-functional teams from the Business QA discipline, working alongside the Business QA Associate. In this role, you will contribute within the Pod/team to exploring the software from both a technical and customer perspective in order to ensure maximum quality is achieved, with guidance from the Business QA Lead. As a Business QA Junior Associate, you will be expected to gain an understanding of the product under test and use this understanding alongside your testing experience to question and identify defects and improvements to the product features delivered.

Responsibilities

  • Validate customer behaviour and highlight any gaps / missed requirements.
  • Raise clear concise defects.
  • Highlight any detrimental impacts where defects have been agreed not to be fixed.
  • Carry out effective tests to cover requirements and customer behaviour to ensure defects are caught and do not make it through to live e.g. writing test cases from matrix provided or detailing exploratory cases based on a story.
  • Ensure project journey meets business & customer standards highlighting appropriately issues or improvements during requirements / testing phases.
  • Identify improvements to make delivery more efficient saving time and/or money e.g. automation & reuse of test artefacts.
  • Active involvement within department teams to create a self-teach / learning culture. Professionalising practices e.g. data & new ways of working, creating a 'best place to work'.
  • Provide accurate testing updates to required stakeholders detailing progress.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other teams to ensure speed to market following agile practises.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of the testing process, digital / staff channels, and customer expectations
  • Excellent awareness of PCs, technology, and the internet (including browsers, operating systems and devices)
  • Awareness of the Agile development methodology and desire to learn
  • Good relationship management skills to satisfy a wide range of internal and external customers with conflicting priorities.
  • A strong team player – highly collaborative recognizing their specialized role in the department and acknowledging other areas/individuals’ roles and responsibilities.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to explain complex issues.
  • Good decision-making skills to be able to evaluate importance of defects found during testing, based on impact.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Innovative – the ability to approach things differently or do different things to deliver goals.
