Business & Resource Scheduling Coordinator – BBC Local
Three Fixed-Term Attachments: 12m Full-Time, 6m Full-Time, 12m Part-Time (17.5hrs)

- Salary: Up to £30,000 (depending on skills/experience)
- Flexibility: Open to discussing flexible arrangements; preferences may be indicated in the application.

Reporting to the Business Advisor, these Business & Resource Scheduling Coordinators ensure efficient use of resources, contracts, and operational compliance. As part of the Management & Administration team, you’ll play a vital role in adhering to schedules, managing staffing needs, and supporting financial accountability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the Business Advisor, your role will include:
- Resource Scheduling – Accurately manage staff rotas, timesheets, leave, and record-keeping in compliance with terms and conditions.
- Query Handling – Be the first point of contact for scheduling concerns, liaising internally (production, scheduling teams) to plan forward resource use.
- Workforce Optimisation –
- Monitor overtime, freelance, and casual staff allocation to ensure cost efficiency.
- Align staffing with contractual hours for optimal resource utilisation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with Payments, Procurement, Business Logistics, and IT teams to maintain data accuracy and operational workflows.
- Problem Solving – Escalate issues tactfully while upholding the BBC Respect at Work policy.

Skills & Experience
You’ll need:
- Expert knowledge of resource scheduling systems (or fast-paced IT tools).
- Exceptional organisation, conflict-resolution, and prioritisation—crucial for tight deadlines.
- Precision-first mentality—flawless attention to detail is non-negotiable.
- Discretion & people skills to liaise sensitively with staff while upholding the organisation’s ethical standards.
- BBC policy mastery: Familiarity with scheduling terms, conditions, and workplace compliance.

WELCOME, BUT NOT REQUIRED
Neat bonus to have (if not, transferable strengths apply!):
- Experience with Microsoft tools: Excel (in data management), Outlook, Teams.
- Insider knowledge: Familiarity with content production workflows or production environments.
