About the Role
Job Title: HMPPS B3 - Business Support Administrator
Personnel Security Countermeasures (PSC) is recruiting an enthusiastic and organised individual to join their growing team. This varied and rewarding role supports the operational delivery of personnel security vetting across HMPPS and provides exposure to a wide range of administrative functions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the team by performing a combination of core administrative and operational responsibilities, including:
- Managing shared mailboxes and communications
- Supporting onboarding activities for new staff
- Monitoring vetting applications and associated timelines
- Processing references and exclusion checks efficiently
- Coordinating equipment orders and leave records
- Allocating cases and workload to team members
- Maintaining accurate and secure records
- Providing general administrative support to senior leaders
The role requires someone with:
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, especially when handling sensitive information
- The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- A professional and discrete approach when working with stakeholders
- Confidence in managing confidential and security-sensitive materials
Key Requirements
Security & Eligibility
Due to the nature of the work, all successful applicants must:
- Undergo and pass HMPPS Vetting and the appropriate level of National Security Vetting.
- Demonstrate five years of continuous UK residency prior to application (mandatory for security clearance).
- Undergo a criminal record check and meet government security requirements.
