Location: Sunderland Contract: Part-time (3-4 days per week) | Permanent
About the Role

At Onyx Scientific, we partner with academic, biotech, and pharmaceutical organisations worldwide, providing high-quality scientific support from early discovery through to commercial manufacture.
We're looking for a Business Support Administrator to play a key role in supporting our commercial and operational activities.
The Role
As our Business Support Administrator, you’ll provide essential administrative support across client-facing and internal processes, ensuring smooth operation within a growing pharmaceutical organisation.
This varied and rewarding role offers exposure to commercial operations, client management, and business support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage client documentation (NDAs, service agreements)
- Maintain and update CRM systems and customer records
- Support preparation and issuance of quotations and standard documentation
- Coordinate client communications and operational updates
- Assist with contract management (tracking, storage, and updates)
- Aid invoicing processes and purchase order administration
- Organise meetings (scheduling, minute-taking, action tracking)
- Maintain records in compliance with quality and regulatory standards
- Prepare reports, presentations, and business documentation
- Provide general administrative support (travel, event coordination)

About You
We seek a highly organised individual who thrives in supporting others while delivering precise, professional service.
You’ll excel in managing multiple priorities, maintaining confidentiality, and working within structured processes.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience in administrative, coordination, or business support roles
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Exceptional communication skills, with an ability to build positive relationships
- High attention to detail in handling all documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with CRM systems, databases, or document management systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive commercial information

Desirable Experience (Bonus!)
- Work experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industries
- Knowledge of GMP, GxP compliance, or quality-regulated processes
- Experience supporting contracts, service agreements, or quality systems
- Familiarity with invoicing processes and purchase orders
- Experience in client communication or commercial support
