Would you like to work within a role that makes a tangible difference? We’re looking for two Business Support Assistants (one full-time, one part-time) to join our Safe and Caring Communities service in Cornwall. Our mission? Your central focus will be to shield our frontline practitioners’ time for direct work with residents, ensuring efficient communications with service users and partner agencies. In doing so, you’ll play a vital role in achieving the best possible outcomes for Cornwall’s community.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality business support services, including (but not limited to):
- Monitoring and managing admin email accounts for task coordination and communications.
- Distributing correspondence and reports to relevant parties.
- Maintaining and updating records management systems, both digital and filing-based.
- Administering routine meetings; drafting agendas, recording minutes, and ensuring adherence to deadlines.
- Processing financial transactions and inputting data into the Case Management System.
- Managing complex procedures with meticulous attention to detail, strict deadlines, and compliance.
A flexible working approach is key—the role may occasionally require you to work remotely (e.g., from home) where needed. However, there will be a commitment to regular office attendance (a collective hour rotation system/casual days as required) to facilitate the smooth delivery of our core business hours: Monday–Friday.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
Essential Requirements:
- GCSEs (or equivalent): Grades 9-4 (previously A-C), including English and Maths.
- Strong keyboard dexterity and rapid, accurate typing skills.
- Administrative/workplace experience—any advantages here will be favoured, but not compulsory. Extensive on-the-job training will be provided.

Key Personal Qualities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—you must liaise effectively with all staff levels, service users, and partner agencies.
