About the Role
The successful candidate will provide clerical and administrative support to Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services (ADRS), offering essential front-line assistance to staff and service users.
Key Duties
The role will include:
- Providing clinic support, including appointment management
- Handling prescriptions and medication-related tasks
- Managing reception duties, including call handling and enquiries
- Processing financial transactions (e.g., issuing bus tickets)
- Taking minutes for ADRS Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings
- Supporting statutory processes and ensuring priority services are met
- Assisting social workers, nurses, and managers in delivering key performance targets
The post will operate within established NHS protocols, including:
- Health & Safety
- Data Protection & Confidentiality
A deduction period will be followed by supervision and on-the-job training from an Administrative Assistant/Administrative Officer.
Post Details
- Status: Permanent (part-time)
- Hours: 18 hours per week
- Working Pattern:
- Monday & Tuesday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Wednesday: 9:00am – 12:30pm
- Salary: Pro-rata (adjusted for part-time hours in line with pro-rata pay scale)
- Location: Rowan Business Park, 5 Ardlaw Street, Glasgow, G51 3RR
- Flexibility: Must have availability to support other bases within the South Sector as needed

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver front-line administrative support to ADRS staff and service users, including:
- Prescription coordination and clinic assistance
- Call and reception management
- Issuance of ticket subsidies (e.g., bus tickets)
- MDT meeting minutes documentation
- Provide back-office administrative support to ensure statutory and priority services are delivered efficiently
- Maintain compliance with all Board policies, including:
- Health & Safety
- Data Protection
- Confidentiality regulations
Requirements
Successful candidates will meet the following knowledge/experience criteria:
- Standard Grade (or equivalent) in English
- Good touch-typing and keyboard skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Practical knowledge of office systems and procedures

From 1 April 2026, NHS Scotland will reduce the full-time working week to 36 hours (from current 37). Part-time roles will adjust pro-rata, with corresponding salary increases to maintain pay parity.
