Business Support Co-Ordinator – Midlands Fostering Service (Chesterfield)
Are you an experienced, organised and confident business support professional looking for a role where your work directly contributes to positive outcomes for children, young people and foster families?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Support Co-Ordinator to join our Midlands Fostering Service, based across on a 12 month fixed term maternity cover.
As Business Support Co-Ordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the fostering service, providing high-quality administrative, operational and financial oversight to Fostering Managers and the wider fostering team.
This is a varied and busy role where you will administrate day-to-day office processes, support accurate record keeping, prepare reports, take minutes, respond to enquiries and provide detailed oversight of financial transactions, including foster carer payments.
We are looking for someone who can work confidently in a fast-paced environment, balance competing priorities, use their initiative and communicate effectively with colleagues, foster carers and external professionals.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
